Psychologists like to make up a lot of hard to remember words for some pretty simple phenomenons and other vocabulary related to the brain.
This was probably the most annoying thing about studying this field in college. It took me forever to remember how to spell the word heuristic effortlessly when writing papers, and ironically, it means "a shortcut for the brain." Why in the hell could I not figure out a shortcut for my brain to learn how to spell it??
